Susan Brock, wife of county supervisor Fulton Brock, arrested on childn molestation charges

The wife of Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock was in court Wednesday morning on charges of child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor, and is now being held without bond.

Police arrested Susan Brock Tuesday night. She made her initial court appearance Wednesday morning.

According to court paperwork, investigators were first alerted to the alleged molestation when the parents of the victim, a 17-year-old boy, called the Chandler Police Department the morning of Oct. 22. Friends of the family had intercepted some text messages that concerned them.
The paperwork says Brock, 48, gave the victim an iPod Touch and then used the device to send the teen sexually explicit messages. The parents of the victim showed police printouts of those messages, as well as the saved messages themselves.
The victim's father reportedly told investigators that his son admitted to sexual activity with Brock. Court paperwork shows that when police talked to the victim, he said the sexual activity had been going on for three years, starting when he was just 14. The teen said he and Brock had trysts in her car, at her home and at her mother's home.
Police said the victim provided them with graphic details of his alleged meetings with Brock. He said when he was 14, Brock would pick him up from his home or from school and take him someplace secluded so that they would not be discovered.
He said during the past three years, he and Brock had between 20 and 30 sexual encounters, the last one being the first week of October.
The victim also told police that Brock would help him meet with his girlfriend, also a minor. Because the girl's parents had forbidden her to see him, the teen said Brock arranged transportation and helped them to see each other so they could have sex. The teen said Brock allowed him and his girlfriend to meet at her house and even provided them with condoms.

Through a public relations firm, Fulton Brock released the following statement:
“My life and that of my family’s was upended [Tuesday] night. Police officers arrested my wife of 28 years and the mother of our three children. She was informed that she was being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year old. Even with this statement I am not sure how to express what such a shocking emotional punch to your heart and family feels like. I am stunned. My children are flabbergasted. You think you know someone after 28 years and I need answers as much as police officers do. I want so much to believe these allegations are not true, but if they are, I am appalled and crushed. I am a religious man. I ask all to pray for our family and those involved so that justice may best be served.”
A status hearing for Brock has been scheduled for Nov. 3 with a preliminary hearing to follow on Nov. 8.
