Although it’s been more than a decade, the debate goes on. Some say they're military flares, others say its proof we had visitors from another planet. A Valley UFO hunter insists we are still being visited and he has the pictures to prove it. This home video taken on March 13, 1997 and shows a line of lights mysteriously hovering over Phoenix.
Thousands of people watched in awe wondering what it was.
The government said it was nothing more than military flares but others think it's something bigger. "When the Phoenix Lights happened we didn't see an airplane dropping these things out we saw one light popping in next to another light," said Jeff Woolwine. Woolwine is a UFO hunter.

He's been videotaping objects in Phoenix for a decade! He recently captured on camera what he believes to be flares. He said they look nothing like "the Phoenix Lights." "See how they're dumping the flares out here and they burn out quick and if you pay attention you can even see the little airplane light dropping these flares out," he said.
Woolwine does not believe the Phoenix Lights were part of a space craft coming for a visit.
He thinks its much more than that. "In studying this I believe that each light is the entity, is the creature itself so when you see five lights out there you're seeing five creatures five entities you're seeing five life forms if you will," he said.

"They definitely did see something in the sky March 13, 1997," he said.
Steve Kates, better known as "Dr. Sky" has a doctorate in astronomy. He believes the events from that night were without a doubt, from this world. "I believe the first event was simply flares,” he said. “I think it was a cover for the next event which came later which in deed was an aircraft. I think it was a military test very tightly coordinated by the pentagon why and how this information has never been released I have no idea."
He thinks we'll find out one day what really happened. “I think as time goes on we're going to find out more about these big black deltas and these flying reconnaissance triangles," Kates said.
Woolwine believes as time goes by we'll see a lot more of these unidentified flying objects over Phoenix. Woolwine has video he shot a few days ago near South Mountain.
"In my opinion this is not a space craft that we're looking at this is another life form this is another entity,” he said. “It's hard for people to grasp that this isn't a space ship."
Woolwine said if we're expecting little green men to jump out of a space ship, we'll be waiting a long time.
"You need to go off and investigate this for yourself and you need to find out what's going on it's up to you to make up your own mind whether you're seeing flares or whether you're seeing other life form," he said.
