The Bison Homes Percherons six horse hitch will be at Rawhide this week for the 18th annual National Festival of the West, taking place Thursday through Sunday, March 13-16. This team of beautiful, black draft horses will perform in full regalia daily at 1:00 pm in the Main Arena. When not in the show ring, the Percherons will be on display under their tent for viewing by the general public.
The Festival of the West provides the perfect opportunity to see the Bison Homes Percherons in an up close, personal setting. Witness first hand the beauty, grace, power and teamwork of these magnificent animals. You’ll want to check out one member of the team in particular, Ben, currently one of the tallest Percherons in the world at 19.1 hands (over six feet).
The Festival of the West features a Western shopping expo, mounted shooting, cowboy poetry, a chuck wagon cook off and so much more. For more information on the festival visit their website at www.festivalofthewest.com.
The Percherons are currently wintering at West World through the month of March. To visit these horses at their West World stables after the festival, please contact their handler, Gary Keck, directly at 480-205-5990. The Percherons are presented by Bison Homes, a premier builder of retreat homes in Northeast Arizona. For more information on the Percherons, Bison Homes or the Bison Western Museum, call 480-837-8700, or visit www.bisonhomes.com.
