The city of Phoenix is going to do more testing on the city's water supply.
The move comes after a report that prescriptions and over-the-counter medications have contaminated the nation's drinking drinking water.
Mayor Phil Gordon says there's no alarm, just a precaution. "Let me be very clear and very specific, the city of Phoenix drinking water is clean and is safe and does meet all standards," Gordon said.
So why test here?
There were some traces of pharmaceuticals found in Lake Mead. Some of that water does eventually reach Phoenix.
It's my opinion that we will soon be hearing more and more news stories of water that is not safe to drink all over the nation. Sad news I fear.
