Rue McClanahan has joined Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty in Heaven

Rue McClanahan passed away this morning, June 3rd at 1:00 am at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Monday, May 31st. She died peacefully with her son, Mark Bish, her sister, Dr. Melinda L. McClanahan and her nephew, Brendan Kinkade at her side.

Fun facts:
McClanahan's TV resume also included Maude (starring fellow Golden Girl Bea Arthur) and Mama's Family. In 1969, she starred on Broadway alongside Dustin Hoffman in musical Jimmy Shine.

Last April, Bea Arthur succumbed to cancer. Golden Girl costar Estelle Getty died in 2008. Betty White hosted Saturday Night Live last month at the age of 88.
