Traffic along Interstate 10 came to a halt in the middle of the night after a woman jumped from an underpass.
It happened at a freeway overpass near 12th Street and created a traffic back-log for about three miles.
It happened just after 10 p.m. on Thursday when officers from the Department of Public Safety say they responded to reports that a woman was standing on the edge of the overpass. Before officers arrived, callers reported that the woman, identified as 29-year-old Pamela Sonya Green, had jumped and was reportedly lying in the westbound portion of I-10.
Officers found Green's body. It was determined that a 2009 Kenworth tractor trailer had run over her and possibly another car, which officers say was a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.
The roadway was re-opened about an hour after the incident.
