A Valley doctor accused of being a threat to public safety and now his license has been pulled.
The doctor in question is linked to some high profile groups including the Harlem Globetrotters.
AZ Medical Board calls for suspension The Arizona Medical Board claims it has credible evidence of substance abuse and because the board said the doctor didn't willfully surrender his license, they've suspended it.
In an emergency session late Friday the Arizona Medical Board declared Dr. Abraham Sayegh an "imminent threat” to public safety, saying there's credible evidence of "substance abuse involving drugs or alcohol."
Dr. Sayegh has an office in a North Phoenix medical building, but he has some high profile connections in the alley.
Several websites list Dr. Sayegh as the medical director of hospice of Arizona.
He's also listed as the team doctor for the word famous Harlem Globe Trotters.
We tried to contact both groups and as of air time tonight have not heard back.
We've also learned the doctor was accused of a similar problem back in the late 80's in New York
We tracked down documents that said the doctor pleaded guilty and surrendered his license to practice there.
