Found an old issue of Arizona Highways magazine
I love this magazine! I found an old issue of Arizona Highways magazine in a drawer I was cleaning out yesterday. What great pictures and articles about Arizona. If you ever thought, "what is the to do in AZ?", then Arizona Highways magazine is for you; besides visiting www.FunInAZ.com of course!
An article I was reading while flipping through the pages was about a place called Poppy Canyon, in the Peloncillo Mountains. Amazing photos of this mountain range that looks like nothing could ever grow on it, when you see this bright area's of golden orange. They are wild strands of poppies growing in this hidden valley!
Arizona Highways magazine is a must read for anyone interested in travel and Arizona adventure.

We borke the record here in AZ!
It's 113 degree's today and that means we broke a heat record here in Arizona. We have had 29 days in a row of 110 degree weather! Stay inside and turn on your A/C :)
They say it's not planning to cool down anytime soon either. Remember to drink a lot of water and wear light colored clothes.

How to start a fire using a mini mag flashlight - How to video
I just finished up this short video on how to start a fire with your mini mag flashlight. This video is a must see for anyone planning on ever going hiking and/or camping. I hope this teaches you something you can put to good use if you are ever stranded along or with a group. Fire is one of the most important things to learn to utilize when you find yourself in a scary and unknown situation.
I know the sound quality needs improving, but where working on getting better and better every day. It was really windy that day, but it goes to show that no matter what the conditions are, you can and will always need to have a fire. Once again, I hope you enjoy this video and have a great time hiking or camping in the Desert!

Shooting In The Desert with a Ruger 10-22
Shooting is something fun to do in the Arizona desert and this video shows a little of that happening. Remember to always shoot into a hillside and never in the directions of people, cars or homes etc. Use common sense and you'll have a great time like we did. Don't forget to pack up your trash as well, this way we can all enjoy the desert a lot longer. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Georgia WINS in an extra innings home run!
Warner Robins American Little League - Warner Robins, Georgia are the 2007 Little League Baseball World Champs!WOW! What a story book ending! It couldn't have happened a better way. Georgia wins in extra innings over Japan by a HUGE home run. The game was tied at 2-2 for what seemed like forever, when the game winning home run was hit by Georgia in the 8th inning.
Congrats go out to Georgia and to Japan for some great baseball!
Chandler gets beat by Georgia in an action packed game!
Sad to say this, but our home team Chandler lost a tough game to Georgia on Thursday the 23rd. They started out on top but Georgia soon came back to take the lead. It was a great game with a lot of good pitching, hitting and baseball fundamentals. The final score was Chandler 6 - Georgia 16. The 2007 Little League World Series Championship Game will be played today at 3:30pm Eastern, at Lamade Stadium. The two teams playing will be the Southeast -vs- Japan.
This is sure to be a great game filled with tons of action. Sad to say it isn't Chandler, AZ, but they played their hearts out and made each and every game one to remember. There's always next year!
Good game Chandler, Arizona!!!

Chandler playing on TV now!
The Chandler, Arizona -vs- Georgia game is going on right now on ESPN2. It looks like Chandler is going to have to do some catching up. The score is now Arizona 2 - Georgia 5 in the second inning.
Come on Chandler, you can do it!!!

Chandler, AZ holding their own in the 2007 Little League World Series
The Chandler Arizona Little League team has done it again! They won another game in the 2007 Little League World Series against the Minnesota Team. The final score was AZ 9 - MN 2.- I didn't get to watch most the game, but I heard that the 5th inning was great for Arizona. They scored 7 runs in this action packed 5th inning. The pitcher, Seth Fretheim, had total control over the other teams batters with eight strikeouts! Their next game will be against Georgia.

HOT HOT HOT
Today is even more hot than yesterday, lol! Last I looked the temperature was at 106!
I thought I heard on the news last night that we were close to breaking some type of heat record. Something about yesterday being the 27th day and that if it continues to be this hot we will surely beat this record by the end of today. I don't know if it's about the temperature alone or if it's a consecutive day thing.
God bless A/C hahahahaha!!!

Went to a fun D-Backs game!
The whole family went to a great Diamondbacks game last week. It was very hot outside but as soon as we were inside the stadium it was perfect. What a fun time we all had. I highly recommend going to Chase field for a d-backs game. The stadium is so amazing and huge. When we were there the roof was closed and it felt very nice and cold inside. It was a day game we went to, but I hear that in the evening they open the roof and the view is fantastic. I assume they would have the roof open during day games if the weather was cooler than normal summer temps.
We left a couple innings early to beat the traffic and the D-Backs we winning, I'm not sure what the final score was though. Normally we stay to the end but we were so tried from the prior work week. We hope to take in another d-backs game very soon!

Another hot day today!
This week has been pretty hot. I guess I got spoiled the last few weeks when it was a little cooler. It's funny to think that 90-95 is cooler, but today is going to reach 110 degrees!
I'll be staying inside today with the A/C turned on :)

I missed the game...
Oh man, I can't believe I missed the game today! We had so much stuff to do so early that we didn't get home in time to see any of the Chandler, Arizona 2007 Little League World Series game.
If they played anywhere near as well as yesterday's game then I'm sure they won. Anyone know any information regarding this game?I'm sure I'll find out in a little while when everyone starts calling.

Arizona Desert Cactus Photo
How do you like this! Beautiful isn't it. I took this picture of my cactus that I have had for years and years. It only blooms at night and in the morning the rising sun shrivels up the flower. This cactus has such pretty flower that as you can see are huge. They smell great, just like gardenia's!
It will get anywhere from 3 to 15 flowers on it at one time. To be honest I don't know the true name for this cactus, but I thinks it's called a night bloomer?
I just love desert wild plants and tree's, I think they look so unique and wonderful. They need very little water to survive and when it rains and they do get a large amoutn of water they seem to burst with color and flowers no matter the season.
Chandler WINS over Salisbury 16-6!
Man what a game, Chandler came to play ball! Winning the game against Salisbury, MD 16-6. Can you imagine the team spirit of this Chandler, Arizona baseball team!
There was so much excitement during every inning of this fast paced 2007 Little League World Series Game! The crowd was into every moment as well which is always good for the kids to see.
Huge numbers were put up by so many Chandler players such as #25 Seth Fretheim when he hit a huge long ball for the 5th home run of the game! In addition, #22 Edgar Galiz hit a massive home run measured at 259 feet!
These guys are a great team and I can't wait to watch them play again soon. It looks like the next game will be played on Sunday the 19th at 12:00pm ET, (9am Arizona time), at the Volunteer Stadium. Watch this game on ESPN 2.

Two Homers by Chandler in the 2007 Little League World Series!
I tuned in a little late for the start and missed a huge home run hit out of the park by Seth Fretheim to get the action going! These guys are good.
Not more than an inning later Chandler has made it 7-1. A huge home run driving by Luke Parrish has set the stage for what I would have to imagine as a winning game!
This is a very exciting baseball game with great athletes on both teams. You can see why both teams made it to this level when watching the coaching staff. All around fun game so far.
OK, back to the TV :)

Chandler ahead at the start of the game!
YEAH! Chandler is doing great so far! I know it's still early in the game but we're up 3 to 0 right now. The pitcher for Maryland team is throwing some fast pitches at a range between 53-63 mph. This game is bringing in huge crowds!
Just a quick 2007 Little League World Series update...I have to get back to watching the game. Go Chandler!

Chandler on way to Williamsport in the Little League World Series!
Way to go Chandler, Arizona Little League! The Chandler Little League baseball team has kept an Arizona tradition of great baseball alive by making it to the 2007 Little League World Series held in Williamsport, Pa. They did this by playing some great baseball and defeating Solana Beach, from the town north of San Diego, the Southern California champions, for the West Regional Little League championship.
You have to give it up to the kids on this Arizona team. Chandler National Little League finished 6-0 in the six-team regional tournament!
Be sure to watch them on ABC Saturday at noon Arizona time when they play game 7 at Lamade Stadium against the Mid-Atlantic team.
Full schedule can be found here.
Another great Survivorman Show
Watched it tonight and have to say it was another great show courtesy of our Survivorman Les Stroud. I couldn't imagine having to sleep on the floor of that old shelter with all those ants, spiders and scorpions waiting to take a bit out of me!
What an eventful ending when Les had to escape from the wild cat following him. I don't know what he gets paid but it can't be enough! He is truly a Survivorman in my book.
Next weeks episode looks really interesting as well. I'm more into the desert and jungle adventures that he goes on, but next weeks trip entitled "Labrador" looks thrilling.

I can't sleep!
I don't know if it's because I just set up my blog and am having so much fun designing it to the best of my abilities or what, but I can't sleep at all!
Oh well, at least I'll know more about my blog settings hahaha

New episode of Survivorman tonight!
Finally there are some new episodes of Survivorman for all of us to watch on Discovery Channel! I say finally because it was my understanding that Les Stroud, Survivorman, had some misunderstandings with the produces of Survivorman which lead to his show not being continued on The Discovery Channel.I think tonight's show will be the third new show of the season. It should be great, he will be in the Amazon Jungle. I caught Survivorman last week when he had to leave and end the show early due to the immense heat in the Kalahari when the temperatures on the sand reached 140 degrees Fahrenheit!
I can't say enough good things about Les Stroud, "Survivorman". Being an avid hiker and camper here in Arizona, I think Les Stroud has so much to offer everyone with my same interests.
So tune in and see how cool the show Survivorman is, assuming your not already a huge fan.

My video of a BIG storm in the middle of the Arizona desert!
We were out in a great, fun place called Bumble Bee located in Arizona, when I could see this HUGE storm front moving in on us from the north. We all bunkered down in the car and enjoyed the amazing event!
Check out the video I took:

Big storm here last night!
I was working out with my bowflex in the garage late last night when I started to think I was hearing things.
At first I thought someone was stealing our trash cans from behind our gate, because you have to roll them over the small rocks we have for ground cover. After about 5 minutes of wondering what was going on outside I thought it would be a good idea to go out there and check.
To my happy surprise it was thunder from a huge monsoon storm coming my way! All that noise was thunder! The lightening was so cool to look at! The rain was starting to fall in large drops so I went back inside to watch from the window.
After about 10 minutes of watching a super cool lightening and rain storm I went off to bed. It was no surprise to wake up to a calm and bright blue day in the morning, that's how most of our storms here in AZ are. What I was shocked to see though was our park...FLOODED! and I mean flooded. I have never seen so much rain fall in this area before.
Check out the picture I took:

I hope we get another storm like this one in the daytime so we all can enjoy it a little more!
